A friend emailed.
I would hear from her every few days about mutual acquaintances, or politics but this time she surprised me.
“Did you know Sue Ellen James?”
“No, not right off hand.”
“She was quite a beauty. I was sorry to read she died in December…”
A little online search, turned up Hilltown Farm on Digges Church Road. While I was still an intern years ago, another winemaker in training, retired Navy pilot who had recently bought a new Porsche convertible, pronounced that stretch of country road, the prettiest in the country.
Funny you have to hear someone from outside to say it before it becomes obvious.
