Mortality Syndrome
"C'mon, you sons-of-bitches: You wanna live forever?" Daniel Daly, USMC, Belleau Wood, June 1, 1918.
Yes, there’s good news and bad news.
You, my friend, are born with this.
Dubbing it a “syndrome”, implies that not everyone is born with it.
There are two forms, biologically and medically.
Early Onset.
That means you have a medical disease or environment that predisposes you to an early grave. This itself can be nosologically subdivided.
EO/ Type A. Mortality due to unavoidable circumstances.
EO/ Type B. Mortality brought on by stupidity which might have been avoided, given a different peer group.
EO/ Type C. Mortality due to selection of an acknowlegdely hazardous profession, for example logging, and to some degree, military during an active war.
Late Onset.
LO/Type A. Mere physiological or psychological fatigue or dysfunction of the normal, and/or loss of the survival instinct.
LO/Type B. An acquired disease that shortens the impression of immortality.
You wanna live forever?
Write something good and hope enough people see it.
